1985 Quinta da Romaneira
Brick red in colour, looking to be fully mature. Slightly stale on the nose, stewed. Very hollow and empty, little coming through other than a bit of rhubarb and burnt sugar. The aftertaste is modest and shows the wine to be fully mature, lasting a good time. A tired wine, at the start of its decline. 81/100. Drunk 26 June 2009.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
