2005 Quinta do Vale Dona Maria LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2009. Very red in colour. Light and open on the nose, very floral and with a slight bitterness. Very sweet in the mouth with plenty of fruit and some strong tannins. The fruit is ripe and sweet and balances the tingling acidity and tannic structure very well. A big aftertaste with great length. 92/100. Drunk 27 June 2009.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
