A question to test your port knowledge
Today, I encountered a sign which made me decide to pose this question.
Who describes themselves in their promotional material as "Britain's Premier Port"?

Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Felixstowe is where I saw the sign. I haven't been to Southampton recently, but when I was last there I thought it was describing itself as "Britain's Largest Port". Perhaps something that JDAW is aspiring to charge.

Re: A question to test your port knowledge
This is a very dangerous thread as it may result in geeks with an unhealthy interest in sea ports finding our site via google - can you imagine what this place would be like if it were to be overrun with geeks?
Is the answer Cockburn? *
Derek
* I know the answer isn't Cockburn, I'm trying to confuse the geeks so that they leave us alone

I've had a bottle of Felixstowe Port and can confirm that it is pretty darned good in comparison with the Southampton double magnum.
Does this help, Derek?

I could mention Port of Leith, but it qualifies on both counts so I won't risk it
