Next year is my 40th birthday, and I plan a visit to Oporto to celebrate with 4 friends. I already have some suggestions of what to do here. It is now looking like this will be in May and I wanted to know:
Do you also have a public holiday on 4th/last Monday in May?
Is there any reason why this would not be a great time to visit Oporto or head up the Douro?
Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Hi Ben,
We don't have any other holiday in May besides the Labour Day, on the 1st. Regarding the time of your visit, May is a great month to come over, the weather is not too hot, the vines are green and beautiful and not too many people around, so you can receive a better treatment.
If you are planing to stay around Pinhão and if you have time, I would suggest you to take the train from Pinhão to Ferradosa and have lunch in the restaurant located in the old station. It's a 10 minute walk from the new station to the restaurant but if you make a reservation they can probably pick you up and drop you off. Moreover, if you want to visit Quevedo we can meet at the station of Ferradosa and take you to the winery.

Oscar,
I have now booked the flights and am starting to plan the days (28th - 31st May). Hoping to be around Pinhao for nights of 29th and 30th May. What is the name of the restaurant at Ferradosa?
I will certainly do my best to take you up on the offer to visit your winery!
Thank you for the advice.
