Last Golf Major of 2007. USPGA!

Post by Conky »

Well that was a quick Golf Season! :(

Onto the last major which has just kicked off as I type. I fancy Woods to re-emerge from a mini-major slump.

Looking forward to the coverage in HD on the large telly. Might throw in a cheap and cheerful bottle of Port, and the world will be a happy place.
Watch out for a Justin Rose fast start, but a slow finish. Harrington for a top ten finish, and its about time either Paul Casey or Luke McDonald made a splash.

I've rather inconveniently got to go down to Tetbury for Friday & Saturday, for a Family Do. Damned Shame! I'll be back on the couch for Sundays feast. United in the afternoon, and the last round in the evening.

Its tough being an armchair fan...

So 154 golfers set off for their 1st Round in temperatures that were over 100f. At the end of it all, a relative 'unknown' Graeme Storm is leading on 5 under. Cant see him hanging on, but it'll be fun trying. Woods dropped a couple late on, but is still close enough.

My 'Picks' as they stand.

Harrington. Tied 6th.
Rose Tied 13th.
Woods Tied 23rd.
Casey Tied 36th.
Donald Tied 36th.

Oh well, it looks like it will be a procession this evening. Hope you put your money on my predicted winner?
The British attempt was its usual failure, but one day.

Woods won it relatively easily. He's up to 13 majors, 5 behind Jack Nicklaus. History in our lifetime.

Now what shall we spend our winnings on???

You didn't bet? Oh well, never mind. :D
