2007 Graham VP - $75
2007 Vesuvio VP - $64
1995 Smith Woodhouse LBV - $24
2000 Kopke LBV - $18

All from a local B&M that I like to support because they hold reasonably regular tastings.

Not so much a buy as a gift. Brother, who attended the Deeper Underground 1966 Horizontal, asked me to look at his few bottles of port in my father’s cellar. I requested to swap one of his two bottles of Noval 1978, and his Churchill Agua Alta 1983, for use in tastings, and then praised his lone bottle of Fonseca 1966. He gave all three to me: as he put it, he’ll attend another tasting and, rather than his having to acquire some hard-to-find bottle, he has some credit. Indeed he does.

A case of Dow 1977! I've been after a case of this for some time and finally managed to pick one up for a reasonable price.

I was very impressed with the price - and it was in perfect condition. I have to say though although it was really good I still prefer the 70 Warres over it, I just really like the sweetness that the Warres has - hubby had the same opinion.

Also purchased last week (been naughty) 6 x bottles of Vesuvio 1992, 2 x Warres 1994, 2 x Vesuvio 1997, 3 x Niepoort 2000.

I shall stop buying port, I shall stop buying port, I shall stop buying port

Glen, you simply have to come across that little water, visit Germany, have some Port with me and take an owc/6 from my cellar at the price I paid- very nice wooden cases though.

I agree on your estimation. One of the best VP from 2007 I tasted so far. For nearly a song. One to stock up.

Three cases of a mixture of dry reds recently delivered by Laithwates. Just drinky plonky stuff that needs a home before the weather decides to switch from 0C to 20C+ in around 4 or 5 weeks time.

No purchases made recently. Opened a bottle of the Sainsburys vintage the other week since it benefits from 24 hours to open up. The dutiful opening was done in plenty of time then I popped off to the Quack who has put me on tablets and I can't partake.

So my "latest buy" is a decanted bottle sitting there waiting for me.

Now is the time to stock up whist I can't consume - anyone have any suggestions?

I haven't decided yet, almost did it last week but opted for G77 instead. It's actually M&S BOB (and presumably filtered) but credits Morgan Bros. as the maker. Maybe it'll turn up at an offline  Or perhaps LBV could be a theme for a future offline?

Assorted purchases over the last week or so:

1 x 1995 Smith Woodhouse LBV
1 x Noval Black
2 x 1985 Croft
2 x 1985 Burmester Extra Selected Vintage Port
2 x 1952 Dalva Golden White Colheita (on order to be picked up during the Harvest Tour this fall)

Checking CellarTracker, which isn't known for being 100% accurate, it appears that Burmester may have released two different VPs in 1985. I find both a "1985 Porto Vintage" and a "1985 Porto Vintage Extra Selected." WineBid has a picture of the Extra Selected.

Does anyone know if there are indeed two different Burmester Vintage Ports from 1985, and if so what is the difference?

I think this question has come up before and, as far as I can remember, these are just different labels on the same port, possibly targetted at different countries/markets. It is similar to the inexplicable and meaningless use of the word "Finest" by shippers such as Fonseca and Graham in the not too distant past.
