This thread is to hold information about fabulous tastings that should have happened with us.

A 1948 cellar book of Brooks’s Club in St James includes:
  • Taylor 1927, supplied by Lings of London (two different batches);
  • Taylor 1927, supplied by Robinson & Payne;
  • Taylor 1927, supplied by Harvey;
  • Taylor 1927, supplied by Christopher;
  • Taylor 1927, supplied by Keith.

That sounds like a terrible tasting .... drinking those babies at a mere 21. It sounds akin to hosting a 94 horizontal (plus a couple years).

Unless I am mistaken, this is a theme that is now probably lost to history, with very little chance of repeating it. I think the closest I can recall was this tasting when we compared a London and Oporto bottling of 1967 Vargellas.

I hate to say this, given the nature of some people here, but what chance we could put together an offline where the theme was different bottlings of the same port? :twisted:

I guess 1970 would be the last vintage where this was possible?
