Grapey nose, perhaps still a little tanky. Silky texture, huge tannisn dominating everything else. A lot of patience allows the tannins to soften to reveal a moderately fruity core. The aftertaste and finish are dominated by tart blackcurrants fruit. 83-85/100. Not to my taste and I am not convinced that the fruit will outlive the tannin. 5 July 2010.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
