1999 Graham Malvedos

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Ex-cellars. Deep red in colour, showing youth but not baby purple. 99% opaque. Slightly stewed fruit on the nose, full of bright raspberries. Sweet fruit dominates the entry, with lively and spicy acidity. The finish is long but hot, and is accompanied by a dry chocolate and sweet bramble flavour. 86/100. Drunk 26 September 2010.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

GM99: 90% opaque, red-purple. Much lighter than the GM98, with heat. Less fruit as well. Very much the lesser of the pair.
