1994 Quevedo Colheita

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Red / brown in colour, 80% opaque. Hot on the nose with lots of white pepper. Lovely texture in the mouth; structured entry with tannins and acidity but plenty of sweet dates and perfume. Good balance. Huge aftertaste, very very long and with lovely flavours. Served blind, I guessed this to be an LBV from 1992. 86/100. Drunk 27 September 2010.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Qv94 colheita, served blind. Red, 50% opaque. Thought to be younger than а (which was later revealed to be the Qv92 colheita), and much richer. Mid-palate acridity. Some wood age.

Guessed to be a mature LBV wrongly.
