2005 Fonseca unfiltered LBV. Red-purple, 80% opacity. Lots of primary fruit, cherry and strawberry. A little heat. There was a little roughness, but only slight. At £15 well worth further investigation by members of .
Fonseca 2005 LBV
Unfiltered. Brick-red in colour, with softer and more gentle fruit aromas than I expected. Very nice and drinkable now, with good primary fruits. One to seek out.
I wonder how much effort it would take for Tesco's to be persuaded to loss-lead on this rather than the Croft LBV?
Unfiltered, bottled 2010. Deep red, 95% opaque. Violets on the nose, very floral, very blueberry. Surprisingly restrained palate on entry; fruit is plentiful and tannins are gentle but give structure. The aftertaste is big and energetic. Excellent port, dominated by fruit but with good structure. 86/100.
