Origins of the T-stopper

Post by uncle tom »

Question - when were T-stoppers first used to seal port bottles?

Answer - I don't know, but I don't think I've encountered this type of closure on a port bottle that was filled prior to 1969.

- Any advance on that?

The FG1933 that we had at the tasting on 4th April had a T-stopper in it that looked like it might have been the original stopper.
