1996 Fonseca Guimaraens vintage port

Solid red core, 90% opaque. Spirity nose with floral fruit. Lovely elegance of fruit, ripe and with chocolatey tannins. Lovely development in the mouth. Slightly hollow aftertaste but this changes to give a complex finish. Lovely wine, a decade from maturity. 88/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
