S97. Drunk with dinner. Slightly closed, and weaker than the ’94.

Opaque; intense and deep red colour. Closed nose, some balckcurrants. Sweet fruit on the mouth, restrained and initially a little hollow. Then huge volumes of fruit with a very dry and powerful tannic core. Very dry finish. Less balance in this wine than to the 1994. 91/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
