Classic bit of old newsreel..!

..for a less airbrushed look at the Douro, both old and new, there is a recently made feature length documentary called 'As Horas Do Douro' - also in Portuguese, but with English subtitles.

The film is beautifully made, and well worth watching; but I don't know where one can buy a copy (a copied DVD was given to me when I was last in Gaia)
