Mid-red colour, holding into the rim; 50% opaque. Sweet cranberry nose of mature port. Still some youthful tannins, chalky but soft, with lots of sweer, ripe fruit - with a good few years still ahead of it. Medium bodied, surprisingly dry, with plenty of fruit and some floral notes. Modest aftertaste, which leads to a long finish of sweet raspberry and gentle chocolate. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
