The 10 bottles of 1983 Ramos Pinto have all been spoken for.

AHB: Your bottles will be brought to London in mid/late December by my sister Eliza, who will (god bless her little heart!) arrange delivery details in due course.

Glenn: Let me know if you'd prefer to have them shipped directly to yours, or if you'd prefer to pick them up from NY in 2012

Axel: To make things easiest, I will likely instruct Liz to give an extra bottle to AHB to give to you, which will be my humble contribution to your R-P tasting.

I'd be interested if we can arrange some form of shipment to Seattle. I would happily take 4 of the bottles (number chosen due to convenience of shipper sizes).

Or you could hold them until March, when I'll be in NYC again for the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament and Port Tasting.

I just had this port with the two Joaos from Ramos Pinto at their Quinta Bom Retiro this October at a splendid dinner with two charming ladies. It was served blind and Joao Nicolau de Almeida asked me what I believe it was. I told him that I will tell him exactly like I think, so that he should tell me at which intersection I took off in the wrong way.

I guessed it to be their 85, but he agreed that its a strong port for 83.

So, well done with the 10 bottles, should be some very nice drinking and hold on to this for some 10 years more and thanks a lot for the contribution to our tasting. Be assured that a good toast will fly over the atlantic at the evening of the tasting.
