1990 Malvedos vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A half bottle, courtesy of Axel's cellar.

Plum red in colour, firm rim; 70% opaque. Stewed blackcurrant on the nose, Soft fruit on entry, rather sharp and acidic but with plenty of fruit. Lovely red licorice aftertaste and a warm cinammon finish.

Medium bodied and delicate in tone with a delicious finish of coffee and dark chocolate. 88/100. Drunk 1 Feb after 2 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
