I called and spoke to Matron. She says you're not allowed visitors who encourage you to drink Port. :(

Ray: Please tell me. Is matron anything like Nurse Gladys? (You are of an age where I think you will know to whom I am referring!)

Hope all is well. Clearly you mind is still functioning!

I spoke to her yesterday. She seems to be more like Kathy Bates in Misery. Good luck, Ray. I hope it's not your ankle that hurts in the morning

Sorry for the late request but would there be any chance I could adopt? I have certain difficulties in carrying alcohol around during the day at the moment. If not, no worries: I will acquire locally.

Sorry, not from me as I am already separated from my cellar.

Regrettably i will have to miss this. If it is held in TBH, there is a chance i will make it across for a drink at the end of the evening, but do not let that sway your choice of venue.

Jacob - if you are struggling to acquire locally, i can probably provide a bottle for collection at EC1Y 8YY or EC2Y 8DQ at some point tomorrow. Don't know if that is of any use - let me know by tonight if so (and whether you want it decanted).

Not sure about Gladys or Bates - i'm thinking more the scene from One Flew Over where Nurse Ratched arrives to find the aftermath of the blow-out party held on the ward. Except Ray will be clinging to an empty bottle of 1952 Dalva Golden White rather than a lady of negotiable affection.

A bottle has been decanted. I hope it fits the theme.
