Ni94: red, 65% opaque. Nose primarily tannin and structure. To taste overwhelmed by the acidity. Others loved this; but for me the acidity was too much.

A fine wine so sadly compromised by persistant VA

Deep red, some early signs of maturity in the appearance. VA dominates the nose and doesn’t let much else through. Balanced entry, but rather a hot mid-palate; a late showing of perfect and ripe blueberry. Dry aftertaste, big and sweet finish. This is a big wine with good concentration that is spoiled by the high level of VA. 88/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
