1955 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

F55: Orange, 20% opaque. Nose had oranges, and ‟not good”. To taste very tawny, with runny honey, but no longer a VP. JDAW.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Very pale, amber, slightly hazy. Unknit nose, alcohol standing out from some green apples. Soft entry, with the powerful apple acidity dominating. This has the palate of a basic or tawny reserve. There is heat on the aftertaste and a short finish. An oxidised bottle. NR. 11-Jun-12. Decanted 3 hours.
