1985 Dow vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Lively and vigorous. Very tasty and enjoyable with many years ahead of it. But sadly guessed blind to be Taylor 1966! Many years of life ahead of it. 91/100. 14-Jun-12. Decanted approximately 2 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

D85: served blind. Dark red, 70% opaque. Red cherries on the nose. Quite hot, red fruit, mid weight. I mis-guessed Dow 1980; a man near me correctly guessed Dow 1985, and there were a range of 1983-like guesses within earshot. JDAW.
