1957 Sandeman vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Attractive red colour, firm centre and pale rim. Empty nose. Nice body and texture, quite thick. Sweet and attractive palate, lots of late red cherry and gentle acidity. Warm, spicy and fruity finish of great length. 88/100. 13-Jun-12. Decanted 1 hour.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny

S57: glorious red, 40% opaque. Nose of strawberry and cherry. Big and unctuous. Gentle. A hint of acridity mid-palate, but thoroughly excellent. Big and long.
