1984 Smith Woodhouse LBV (unfiltered)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 1988, traditional LBV. Mature red, with a pink rim. Rich redcurrants on the nose, attractive. Sweet fruit, nice balance with a very faint tannin giving a pleasant dustiness before a fragrant aftertaste. An enjoyable LBV, well made and drinking nicely. 86/100. 12-Jun-12. Decanted 4 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
