1987 Quinta da Tua vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Cockburns. Warm red, bricking throughout and with a paling rim; 80% opaque. Attractive nose of cold roast beef and redcurrant jelly - very fresh and focused. Balanced entry, flavoursome and mouthfilling with considerable fruit, concentrated and delicious. The sweet fruit is focused with a lovely acidity and supported by great complexity. Mouthwatering - slightly hot - aftertaste and finish of wonderfully concentrated crepe suzette. Delicious. 92/100. 12-Jun-12. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
