1975 Dalva Colheita (bottled 2011)

Dalva 1975 Colheita, bottled 2011: Acidity stronger than ’85 and ’95; lighter, and less well balanced. I preferred the ’95. €79. JDAW, January 2013

Shown at the Dalva wine bar in Vila Nova de Gaia. Bottled 2011. Brown centre, green / orange rim; 20% opaque. Hollow nose, but sweet and cencentrated honey and orange on the palate. More intense oranges and lemons than the '85 shown alongside. Sweet finish, balanced by a nice streak of grapefruit bitterness. 89/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
