1996 Fonseca Guimaraens vintage port

Deep red, firm rim, looking much less evolved than the '98 Panascal being shown alongside. The nose is full of menthol. Restrained on entry, very spicy with plenty of mid-palate fruit. Turns out to be a powerful port, long and fine. 87/100. Drunk 24 April 2013 at the BFT.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
