2005 Niepoort vintage port

Opaque, dark red in colour. Oddly plastic and tanky on the nose. Silky texture, early fruit then ripe chalky tannins. A big palate presence with great development and complexity. Modest aftertaste and length. 89/100. Drunk at the BFT on 24 April 2013.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
