1960 Dow vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottle f.

The sixth of eight bottles from the single lot of unknowns bought at auction. Honey borwn in colour, light rim; 25% opaque. Lots of rosemary on the nose, rosemary also dominates the palate although there is an underlying sweetness and acidity. Lots of rosemary on the finish and a good length. Not right, but very pleasant. 89/100. Drunk 23 April 2013 with a 6 hour decant.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
