Juicy red fruit on nose, thick unctuous texture on the palate. Taste is full of cherries, with a strong ainseed component as well - slightly medicinal in a cough syrup way. Lovely bitter-sweet thick cut marmalade orange rind at finish. Thoroughly enjoyable, though drank suprisingly "mature" for an 85. 91pts.

Mature red, ruby rim and 60% opaque centre. Red cherries on the nose, lively and attractive with a twist of spearmint and charcoal. Charcoal on the impact, fruit is a little restrained and arrives late but eventually delivers cedar and raspberry syrup. Dry on the mid-palate; great texture. Lovely balance, delicate flavours but perhaps just starting to fade. Absolutely delicious. Served blind, this was guessed to be Martinex 1967. 92/100. Drunk 04-Jun-13. Decanted 6 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

W85, red to pink at edge. Nose of red cherry. In mouth same red cherry fruit, some heat, sweet, and liquorice mid- to end-palate. Good length.
