2011 Niepoort Bioma

Tart blackcurrant and cranberries on the modest nose. Silky texture on the smooth and fruity entry. Lovely fruit with a lovely elegance with high levels of acidity in support. Tannins grip and dominate the aftertaste and finish. Elegant, but a little austere. 90-92. Tasted over 1-4 days as part of the extended 2011 tasting.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
