2010 Post Scriptum

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Still surprisingly purple in colour; also surprisingly closed on the nose with very little bouquet. Strongly tannic palate with restrained fruit that comes with lovely perfumed tones. The tannins dry the mouth on the aftertaste but eventually relent to release a long finish of sharp blackcurrants. This would benefit from further cellaring for at least 5 years. 90/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

This is the second label of Chryseia. Produced by the Symington Family Estates. Made from grapes from the Douro valley (Thus a Douro DOC wine). The grapes come from Quinta de Roriz and Quinta da Perdiz.

Isn't this one of the JV wines coming from Prats & SymIngton?

Yeap. My bad. Joint collaboration of Bruno Pratts and the Sym's.
