2011 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

55% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca, 10% very old mixed vines, 5% Sousao. Sourced from Quinta dos Canais (80%), Quinta do Vale Coelho (15%), Quinta do Cachao de Arnozelo (5%).

Vivid purple. A nutty edge to the bright fruit nose. Sweet, soft entry with elegant fruit. The tannins are hidden behind the purity of the sweet blackcurrant. Delicious aftertaste tingling with black pepper and sweet blackcurrant cordial. Very elegant. 92-94. Pop 'n' pour. 4 Sep 2013.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
