1980 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Brick red with a transparent centre, 50% opaque. Restrained but very attractive on the nose, showing cinammon and sweet redcurrants. Sweet and poised on the palate, developing with great balance. Elegant fuit drives the flavour profile with tremendous layering of flavours. Gentle fruit and toffee aftertaste and an elegant, lingering finish. Really nice but possibly suffering slight stewiness from storage in a warm cellar. 93/100. Decanted 3 hours. 4 Sep 2013.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
