Mid-dark woody colour. Nose is surprisingly treacly but still good. This is quite tight, with tooth-drying tannins, all the same it's not extraordinary. Heat at the finish.
Tasted at the Essência do Vinho in Port, Feb / Mar 2014.

I put this down in my book: "quite a lot of leather notes in the mouth, quite fresh for 40 years in cask"
