But that status is by definition temporary, so the knock on the door and some new knees is never far away.
Anyhoo - back to Martinez - do we have an industry guest?
We happen to know people who might have access to old Martinez.

Phil, assuming that there is still the one place left I'd be happy to fill it (if not please put me on the reserve list).
Thanks

Phil - if there is a space available can you count me in for this.
Cheers

I've added you as first reserve. Two of the original signed-up participants have not yet confirmed, so there may yet be a space even without any dropouts.

Hi Phil,

Sorry. It's down to me. I need to chase that up.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Unfortunately our planned industry guest is unable to attend. Since all attendees have now confirmed, and with forest26 on the list as reserve, I have therefore offered this last spot to Tony which he has taken up. I will adjust the first post to reflect this shortly.
With regard to venue, the assumption at the moment is that we will be at Davy's in Holborn - previously The Bung Hole, then Davy's Bar and Grill, this is currently undergoing refurbishment and will likely also be renamed again. Final location for this tasting will therefore be confirmed once we have visited the refurbished TBH and checked whether the facilities will still work for us for a large tasting.
Of the obvious vintages, we are still missing the '75 and '83; if anyone can supply either, please let me know asap.
I will be asking for money from people in the next few days; if I do not have your email address, please let me know it as this makes sorting the arrangements much more straightforward - thank you.
Phil.

First post updated; DRT no longer able to make the tasting, but all other attendees confirmed. We may have an industry guest, tbc.
Summaries have been sent out by email to all attendees, together with list of who is providing bottles for the event. An additional email asking for transfer of funds as required to cover the cost of the event has also been sent to all attendees (including those with nothing to pay, for confirmation); please let me know if you have not received this.

Following the refurbishment, TBH seems to be no longer suitable for large tastings. Last night we used the "Brasserie" room at Davy's Woolgate for a tasting for 12 which worked extremely well, so this venue has now been booked and will be used for the Martinez Vertical on the 26th November. I have updated the first post accordingly.

Please could you add to the first post a list of vintages?

The list is there. It's up above the participants list in a paragraph rather than a vertical list.

The old 'invalid URL' Tapatalk problem
EDIT: I tried cutting and pasting the URL in Safari (a URL with spaces in it, mind) and received the response:
"Your search -
www.hallarn.com/placemats/141126 Martinez placemats - 141121a.pdf - did not match any documents."
