1970 Sandeman

One of the two bottles on show was very smelly. This note is based on the good bottle.

Very pale brown, 10% opaque. Soft on the nose showing very little. Gentle and soft on entry, mostly brown sugar. Slow to develop but eventually shows a mature fruit spiciness. Neutral aftertaste but a soft length of nutskins and raisins. 87/100. Drunk 23-Apr-14
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
