Deep red with a magenta edge, opaque. Wonderful, floral and fragrant nose that is really attractive. Hesitant entry that is slow to develop. Big tannins dominate along with huge and powerful acidity over the top of big levels of fruit that come to dominate the late palate. The fruit drives the aftertaste and leads to a big, fruity finish that has great length. This is really good port. 93/100. Drunk 23-Apr-14.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
