2009 Quinta da Gaivosa LBV

Bottled unfiltered in 2013. Soft red colour, restrained nose showing some attractive soft fruit. Sweet, slightly candied fruit in the mouth; the tannins are strong and not quite integrated to give a slightly odd structure. Delicious fruity chocolate finish of nice length. One to drink or hold. 85/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
