2001 Graham Malvedos

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A softened red, shedding some of its youthful colour. Delicious strawberries on the nose. Surprisingly austere on the palate, with restrained fruit and pronounced tannins delivering quite a modest palate. The lingering red licorice and raspberry aftertaste is pleasant enough and is supported by soft tannins in the finish. Surprisingly lightweight and modest - perhaps in need of more time in the cellar to come back into balance. 86/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
