2011 Quinta de la Rosa

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep purple still, opaque. Soft in texture with a silky entry. The fruit shows very well but the tannins are immense and dominating. There is a nice depth to the fruit and a very chewy finish that carries lots of ripe tannins and modest fruit but has immense length. This has terrific potential but needs several decades. 92-94/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Thank you, should have been "silky".
