2005 Krohn Retiro Novo

Owned by Wiese & Krohn. Lovely youthful red, 95% opaque. Light, pleasant fruit on the nose that is soft and sweet. Sweet perfumed fruit on the palate. Soft tannins but lovely balance and structure. Lovely density of sweet, perfumed fruit. This has a wonderful elegance to it. Attractive now and with 10-20 years of cellaring potential. 91/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
