2009 Quinta de la Rosa LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2013. Solid red colour, 90% opaque. An astonishing nose, full of medicine and elastoplast - very odd. Sour fruit shows on the palate but the medicinal tone also shows through before brutal levels of tannin dominate. The finish is enjoyable but overall this is not a well balanced LBV. 83/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
