1964 Vina Tondonia Tinto Gran Reserva, Rioja
From Bodegas Lopez de Heredia. Very pale orange in colour, 20% opaque. Great nose of roast venison and juniper sauce. Very soft on entry with a lovely solky texture. Delicious fruit up front, light and delicate, before the mature and soft tannins work through to support the fruit. Wonderful explosion of tannins and fruit on the aftertaste and an incredible range of flavours on the finish. A wonderful, wonderful wine. 95/100. Drunk 06-May-14.
