2012 Fonseca Guimaraens

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red/purple in colour. Subdued nose compared to the Croft 2012 alongside, fresh and pleasant but not pronounced. Smooth velvet texture, the gentle fruit arrives at its own pace - but only just ahead of the massive tannins. A big palate presence, really big. delicious fruity finish and an immense length. Really tasty port. 92-94. Drunk 03-Jun-14.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
