Lovely colour with a purple rim. Stunning nose, full of opulent blackcurrant and pineapple. Soft in texture with lush fruit and then very firm tannins. A great palate presence with such rich fruit but a great balance. The aftertaste is slow to develop but is long and has multiple layers. Delicious port. 91-93. Drunk 03-Jun-14.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
