1964 Niepoort Colheita (bottled 1971)

Bottled in 1971. Red-amber in colour, 20% opaque. Oxidative but clean colheita nose. Sweet flavours on entry, modest texture but flavoursome palate. Good acidity and generous flavours. Harsh spirit burn on the aftertaste, before a light and short burnt toast finish that blossoms nicely. Pleasant colheita. 86/100. Drunk 24-Jun-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
