A case of 12 purchase from Seckford Wines for £100 a few months ago and delivered today.
A lovely mature colour and aroma while decanting. Not much sediment to speak of and the wine is clear and bright despite its very recent travels.
Warm, golden red in the glass with a classic barnyard nose. Medium weight, fully mature and with very little fruit. Good acidity on the palate initially but very soft and unremarkable in the finish. This is by no means a stunner, but I am not disappointed at the prospect of drinking my way through a case of 25 year old St Emilion at £8 a bottle.
One to drink with food rather than on its own.
