Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

2011 Georg Breuer Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg Grand Cru

Post by djewesbury »

The nose has petrol, fruit and sweetness; this is really only a semi-dry wine (10.8 g/L sugar). We discovered that the wines from the different estates can fluctuate quite markedly between dry and semi-dry in successive harvests; the 2011s from Schlossberg and Roseneck are markedly sweeter than the 2012s, whereas the opposite is true of the Rottland.

The mouth of this is really grand – it mixes toast, nuts, dried fruits and a distinct petrol finish.

I just noted this in my little black book: "great nose, rather not much acidity in the mouth"
