1992 Krohn Colheita (bottled 2008)

Bought from Castas e Pratos, Regua. Bottled 2008. Honey brown colour with an amber rim. Big and powerful nose of walnuts and VA - cyanide and pistachio paste! Nuts show on the initial palate, followed by deep bitter marmalade on the palate but with the bitter pistachio underneath. A big, bitter flash to the aftertaste; then a big and sticky finish of burnt toast. Decent port, but a little subdued and unfocused. 83/100. Drunk 22-Sep-14. Pop 'n' pour.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
